Why are Inuyasha and Kagome Best together? 

In my opinion, Inuyasha and Kagome are perhaps one of the greatest animanga couples ever. Besides the fact that they make a great team when fighting, their constant violent (Yet hilarious) arguments and the way that Inuyasha mopes around when Kagome isn't there, they show a dedication and trust toward each other that is rare to see in anime couples.

Though it may not seem like it at times, it is very obvious that Kagome and Inuyasha care for each other. Take for example the times that Inuyasha turned into a full-blooded demon while fighting and he didn't have control over his body, he still never hurts Kagome. In fact, he only ever tries to hurt her once and that is when they first met and he wanted to steal the Skikon Jewel from her. Kagome also would not hurt Inuyasha even when she was being manipulated by the Black Miko. Thus showing their need to keep the other safe.

Ah, but we always are perplexed about the situation with Kikyo. At times in the anime it seems that Inuyasha has chosen Kikyo over Kagome, and of course, Kagome and Inuyasha fans like me are upset. However, we can never be sure what it is that Inuyasha feels toward Kikyo - perhaps guilt? Guilt over letting her die, the one person who accepted him for who he was. Or did Kikyo really?

While as Kagome accepts Inuyasha in whatever form he is in, yes, even his full-blooded demon form even though it scares her, Kikyo wanted Inuyasha to change for her, for her own personal needs. She couldn't accept Inuyasha as a half-demon and wanted him to change into a human.

Kagome is the first real person, ever since his mother, to accept Inuyasha as what he is, and love him for it. That is, what I think, the basis of their relationship is.

Sure, Inuyasha is pushy, loudmouthed, rude and inconsiderate (most of the time) but overlooking that fact he can he very sensitive toward Kagome and only Kagome, shows really how much he cares for her.
 
 Still don't believe me? Ok, my last example of why Inuyasha really loves Kagome. The illusions that Kikyo and Naraku put on Inuyasha, Sango, Miroku and Shippo. During these illusions Inuyasha is forced to relive the events that led towards Kikyo sealing him and Kikyo's death. Even as he tries to stop Kikyo, he still thinks of Kagome and her well being, and thus the spell is broken. What other proof do you need?
 
 Kagome however, has got to be one of the most emotionally strongest animanga heroines I've ever seen. The episode where Kagome finds out that Inuyasha has 'chosen' Kikyo over her is one of the most maturing episodes for Kagome.
 
 This reason is, Kagome admits her love for Inuyasha. Even though she knows that Inuyasha loves Kikyo and eventually will go to hell with her, she still wants to be near Inuyasha, and wants to do whatever she can to make him happy. So she stays with Inuyasha accepting everything about him, even Kikyo.
 
 For this reasoning and all the events described above, you can see why Inuyasha and Kagome are such a great couple and how they really do love each other. Now only if Kikyo could go away forever...*sigh*. They are still airing new episodes. Maybe hopefully in the near future.
